Why the UK Must Not Unilaterally Recognise a Palestinian State.
A petition has been launched in Parliament urging the UK Government not to unilaterally recognise a Palestinian state. At first glance, some might wonder why this matters—but the stakes could not be higher.
Unilateral recognition would risk rewarding terrorism rather than peace. It would overlook the hundreds of hostages still held by Hamas, ignore the group’s refusal to disarm, and disregard the continued practice of paying stipends to those convicted of murdering Israelis—the so-called “pay to slay” policy. It would also brush aside the persistent incitement in Palestinian school curricula and the refusal to recognise Israel’s right to exist.
Recognition, if it is to mean anything at all, must be earned. It must follow accountability, reform, and above all a commitment to coexistence. Anything less would be an abandonment of principle, and a betrayal of those—Israeli and Palestinian alike—who yearn for a real and lasting peace.
At We Believe in Israel, we are clear: peace cannot be built on terror, nor can justice be served by rewarding those who seek to destroy a democracy. Recognition must come through negotiation, not as a political gesture.
We urge all our supporters to read the petition carefully and to stand firm against this dangerous attempt to short-circuit peace. Together, let us remind Parliament that true progress demands conditions: the release of hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, the end of incitement, and mutual recognition.
Only then can recognition pave the way to peace, rather than perpetuate conflict.
Charlie Kirk was an American political influencer, commentator and a Christian.
His untimely death at the age of 31, is a testament to the age we now find ourselves in. We pray for the family he leaves behind.
Charlie made a tweet, eerily prophetic of what has transpired.
Bear in mind the words of Jesus about the close of the age: “But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28
And Paul’s inspired words: “For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. “O death, where is your victory? O death where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1st Corinthians 15:53-57
The Israeli Embassy has requested that we share the following important message with the Israel friendly Evangelical Christian community:
Dear friends,
At this time, a website claiming to assist Jews living abroad is being circulated:
The website collects information about Jewish and Israeli families abroad and invites people to “host Jews and Israelis.”
There is a serious suspicion that this site is operated by hostile entities aiming to identify and harm Jewish and Israeli families!
Under no circumstances should you provide personal information on this website!!
Stay away and spread this message – do not use this site, and only rely on official channels of the Israeli government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and its embassies.
In urgent or emergency cases, you can contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ situation room, which operates 24/7:
